Thran Book I:  The Birth

Part one of a three part series, Thran Book I: The Birth, tells of an adventure undertaken by a young group of friends living in the world of Thran, within the kingdom of Kardoon.  Three long years after his father went off to war, never to return, Brutal Mixnor decides to venture out into the wilds of Thran to find the truth surrounding his father's disappearance.  Unwilling to let Brutal head out alone, his long-time friends and some new acquaintances, each with their own unique set of skills and reasons for going, head out with him.  Their decision to uncover the truth sets in motion the epic tale with all the crucial elements of betrayal, love, companionship, secrets, sacrifice, good, evil, tragedy, death, and triumph.
About The Author:
Brian McLaughlin
Growing up in the 70's, 80's, and 90's, Dungeons and Dragons consumed many hours (okay, many days...okay, years) of my life.  I most often played the role of Dungeon Master in which I had to develop adventure after adventure for the players to undertake.  Over that time, unknown to myself at the time, I developed the ability to tell a tale.  But that ability would lay dormant, in the guise of old memories, for almost twenty years, until 2012 when I decided to begin writing my first novel which turned out to be Thran Book I: The Birth.  My goal was to create a novel that would teleport the reader back into their basement, attic, living room, bedroom, dining room, garage - or whatever room they used to role the dice and go on their own adventures.  B
ut I also wrote it, hoping to inspire readers, both young and old, who have never played a role playing game before, to see the kind of possibilities that

unleashing your imagination can create. I hope you learn to love the characters as much as I do, with all their flaws, as well as with all their strengths. Nobody is perfect, and neither are the characters, both good, evil, and especially those crafty personalities riding the fence of neutrality.  Who's side are they on anyway?  There's only one way to find out:  read the book!
